Apparently, the California Legislature believed food facility workers had a handwashing problem that could be remedied only if they got to wash their hands more often. Thus, they enacted AB 1867. Commencing January 1, 2021. food facility workers will be allowed to leave their workstation every 30 minutes to wash their hands, or more often if needed.
Makes you wonder how often employers and OSHA had previously required food facility workers to wash their hands.
